How to change basic startup parameters

Do you want to change core settings for how you and others experience Unturned in game? This article will show you how to change certain details for your server.

This process requires your server to be restarted. If you do not know how to do this, please see this article here.

  1. Login to the Modern Hosting Game Panel and select the server you want to change.

  2. Shut down your server using the "Stop" button on the console page.

  3. On the left sidebar, click on "Startup".

  4. From here, you can specify various parameters to customize your server's experience. You can change the following:

Variables

Function

Format

Max Players

Sets the maximum number of players allowed to join the server

Any numeric value

Rocketmod Auto Update

Sets the option to automatically check for Rocketmod updates when the server is powered on

Boolean value of 1 (enable) or 0 (disable)

Unturned Auto Update

Sets the option to automatically check for Unturned updates when the server is powered on

Boolean value of 1 (enable) or 0 (disable)

Server Name

The Server's Name displayed on the master server list.

Any alphanumeric text

Perspective

Sets the allowed player camera type in game

"first", "third", or "both" values

Map

Sets the server's map to be used in game

Name of an official Unturned map (listed below) or a custom one if configured

Difficulty

Sets the difficulty mode for players on the server

"easy", "normal", or "hard" values

Owner

Sets a Steam user to have access to all commands as a server server

Password

Sets a password that is required to join the server

Alphanumeric text

Game Server Login Token

Sets an authentication token to verify your server on the global list.

The default game maps that can be used are "Alpha Valley", "Festive PEI", "Festive Russia", "Germany", "Halloween PEI", "Hawaii", "Monolith", "Paintball Arena", "PEI", "PEI Arena", "Russia" , "Tutorial", "Washington", "Washington Arena", or "Yukon".

5. Make any necessary changes, which will be saved automatically.

6. Start your server using the "Start" button on the console page.

7. The server will now use the parameters you specified.
